How many curling stones are in a set?

A set is 16 curling stones: eight per team, which is what one sheet of ice needs. In a standard game of four against four, each player throws two stones, so each team needs eight and the sheet needs 16. Buying the full set at once means every stone on the sheet comes from the same order, so a club, rink or school can start a season with everything one sheet of ice needs. If you run more than one sheet, plan on one set of 16 per sheet.

How much does a curling stone weigh?

A regulation curling stone weighs about 19 kg (42 lb). Ours measure about 280 mm (11 in) across and are built to World Curling size and weight standards. Each stone is solid granite with a handle on top. Because every stone in the set is the same size and weight, players can learn their draw weight, sweepers learn how far a stone carries, and skips can read the house knowing each stone behaves like the others on the sheet.

New or used curling stones?

Ours are new: each set of 16 is built to order, and the lead time is confirmed when you order. Used sets cost less, about $5,200 to $7,800 for 16, but they vary in condition from set to set, so what you get depends on how the stones were used and kept. A new set means every stone arrives in the same condition at the start of your first season, which matters for a club or program that wants consistent play from day one.

What is included in our price?

Our $12,995 price includes freight, US duty and curbside liftgate delivery to the contiguous US. The full set of 16 stones ships in one crate. Nothing is added at checkout for freight or duty, so the listed price is the delivered price for the set. Lead time is confirmed when you order, because each set is built to order.
