What is a dry float bed?

It is a bed with a sealed, warmed water surface. The client lies on top, dry and clothed, and the water takes their weight so the body feels weightless. No salt, no shower before or after, no tank to drain. It is also called a dry flotation bed or dry floatation bed.

Dry float vs float tank — what is the difference?

A float tank puts the client in salt water in an enclosed pod: they undress, shower, float, shower again, and the spa filters and maintains the solution. A dry float keeps the client dry and clothed on a sealed membrane, which cuts turnaround to a wipe-down and removes water chemistry from the job entirely. Float tanks give the fuller sensory-deprivation experience; dry floats are faster to run and cheaper to install.

Does a dry float bed need plumbing?

No. The 500 litres of water are sealed inside the bed and filled once. What it does need: a dedicated 240 V, 20 A circuit (the bed draws 3,500 W; there is no 120 V version), a floor that carries about 1,720 lb filled, and a way in — the crate is 9 ft long and won't pass a standard door.

What does a spa charge for a dry float session?

It varies by market. The appeal for the spa is that no therapist is in the room, so labour per session is close to zero. Model your own price against local massage rates rather than ours.

What is in this unit?

A 4-motor base on a stainless steel frame, a 500 L sealed water surface with a TPU membrane rated for about six years, heating from room temperature up to 60 °C (normally run at 36–37 °C, about two hours to heat, with a start/stop timer), and a music function. It weighs 280 kg empty and 780 kg filled.

How long does it take to heat up?

About two hours from room temperature to body temperature. The built-in timer lets you set it to warm up before your first appointment and switch off after your last.

Is a dry float bed a medical device?

No. It is wellness equipment. We make no medical or therapeutic claims about it, and spas should keep their own marketing to comfort and relaxation language.

Where can I buy a dry float bed?

From spa-equipment dealers or direct from an importer. Ours is $15,995 with freight, US duty and curbside delivery included, built to order and delivered in 7-12 weeks.

What does the delivered price include?
